Canam Canada obtains a contract for a building at Montreal-Trudeau Airport

Canam Canada obtained a contract from steelmaker Aciers Sélect for the fabrication of close to 1,035 tons of joists, girders and steel deck. The components will be used in the construction of a 345,000 sq. ft. (32,050 m2) building at Montreal-Trudeau Airport that will be employed by Air Canada and other carriers.

The joist and girder components will be fabricated at the St. Gédéon de Beauce plant while the steel deck will be fabricated at the Boucherville plant. Technyx, another Canam Group business unit, will also collaborate in the project. Deliveries are slated to begin in March 2008.

Montreal-Trudeau International Airport, previously known as Dorval Airport, is the busiest Canadian airport east of the Great Lakes. The airport recently underwent major renovations in order to expand and modernize its facilities.
